The National Women's History Museum is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented intern to assist with the Museum's educational programming.
This position will work remotely for the duration of the internship; applicant must have reliable access to Internet. Communication between Intern and NWHM Education Staff will be conducted via telephone, email, Slack, and video conferencing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing educational programming for diverse audiences, including K-12 students and young adults.
- Support the implementation of virtual programs, including assisting educators and museum staff with live or asynchronous activities.
- Contribute to the creation of digital resources for educators and learners.
- Conduct research to support program design, historical accuracy, and audience engagement strategies.
- Participate in planning meetings and program evaluations to support continued improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Current or recent upper-level undergraduate student or graduate student in Museum Studies, Education, History or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills as well as the ability to multitask. Experience with historical content highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a full remote environment.
- Experience or strong interest in women's and gender history preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with virtual platforms such as Zoom, Google Drive, and Canva is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct reliable research and synthesize information.

Internship Details:
- Tenure: 2025-2026 academic year (September 8, 2025 - June 5, 2026).
- Commitment: Approximately 20 hours per week.
- Format: Fully virtual.
- Stipend: $2,000 per month for 9 months (September-May), totaling $18,000.
- Eligibility: This internship is open to individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States. Please note that the National Women's History Museum is unable to sponsor visas at this time.
- Availability: To ensure continuity and a meaningful experience, candidates should be available to serve for the full academic year.
